Welcome to Grounded Theology!
Where everyday reality and biblical reality converge
There is a profound difference between the theology we study and the theology we actually live out.
We live in an era moving at breakneck speed—drowning in information, navigating shifting cultural frontiers, and constantly pressured by the issues we all face. In the middle of all the noise, it is easy to lose our footing. We often sense the inadequacy of mere surface-level information. We need revelation based on timeless biblical truth. We need substantive help that will guide us through the maze of human experience.
That is exactly why I am launching Grounded Theology. To be “grounded” means to be firmly tethered to reality—taking high-level biblical truth and bringing it down to where our boots actually hit the ground.
What to Expect
This publication is dedicated to exploring the intersection of timeless biblical reality and everyday life. We will tackle the practical realities of dealing with anxiety, of finding the ability to forgive, of knowing how to actively walk away from a devastating experience.
Expect essays that dig into historical and biblical narratives—from the triumphs and catastrophic failures of figures like King David to the ministry and teaching of Jesus—and apply those lessons directly to our modern, everyday issues.
While we will explore deep biblical truths, you won't need a theological dictionary to follow along. If technical explanations are ever necessary, we will keep them brief and free of heavy jargon. You can expect plain English, clear arguments, and ground-level application designed for real life.
Who I Am
I bring a blend of academic rigor from my doctoral work and practical, ground-level experience serving as a chaplain in both the workplace and the local courthouse. When I serve in the workplace, most of my time is spent walking alongside the people who keep small businesses running, occasionally consulting with their leaders. At the courthouse, I regularly intersect with individuals facing very present, often overwhelming life crises. I have spent years listening to and supporting people as they navigate these stark realities. This space is where those very real human experiences align with the timeless truth found in Scripture.
The Schedule
I respect your inbox and your time. You can expect one to two articles per week. My goal is to provide consistent, thoughtful anchors to help you navigate your week with clarity and quiet confidence.
